Mount Cook Adventure Centre, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing access to outdoor activities, has launched a new Training and Development service designed to improve key skills which can be translated back into the workplace.
The purpose-built Centre, which was completed in July 2016, will offer businesses a unique training venue for their employees, set against the backdrop of the Peak District. The eco building provides accommodation for 140 guests in modern en-suite bedrooms and a further 40 guests in the brand new wooden glamping pods. Full catering and a licensed bar is available in the large glass-fronted Dining Hall.
Mount Cook’s new training service will provide three separate programmes, which will be specifically tailored to each business. The Mount Cook Team Development Programme is designed to facilitate the development of high performance teams, through a series of challenges which will build upon skills fundamental to success within the workplace.
The Mount Cook Leadership Development Programme combines the key principles of outstanding leadership with outdoor adventure. Using a blend of tutorials and experiential outdoor activities, the Centre offers a relevant development experience which will equip Team Members with the vital skills to transition into a successful Team Leader.
Finally, Mount Cook’s Team Fun Day offers a team bonding experience designed to encourage a sense of cohesion through a series of outdoor activities which are fast-paced and enjoyable. The Centre’s range of forest, land, rock and water-based activities aim to challenge, extend personal boundaries and motivate teams to work collaboratively.
Co-founder and Director, Colin Adams, said: “Our outstanding programme of activities are tailored specifically to your business and organisational objectives, providing challenging outdoor experiences which will empower individuals and teams to aspire for excellence. There’s nothing quite like the great outdoors to bring teams together! Our experienced and qualified staff will work closely with your group to motivate, challenge and facilitate your team’s development and task completion.”
Set in 5 acres of ground, Mount Cook is a short distance from Black Rocks climbing area, the High Peak Trail and Carsington Reservoir. The Centre provides a range of adventurous activities from rock climbing, orienteering, kayaking and bush craft to facilitate successful team building and leadership development for businesses of all sizes.
