At Mount Cook, our mission statement is to "provide access to the outdoors for all, especially young people and those who may not otherwise have the opportunity." This means that we are dedicated to providing young people with new experiences and adventures which can educate, build an appreciation for the outdoors and create personal development too.
Our Centre mostly works with children and young people through schools, NCS, universities, youth groups and charities. We understand the long process of organising school residentials, therefore we offer support to teachers to ensure that the journey from booking, to visiting Mount Cook is as smooth as possible. This will enable your school group to have a super-fun residential, filled with adventure, learning and achievement.
Planning a residential or activity day for a class or entire school is a big task, with many elements to consider. We have developed a collection of resources designed to make sure the planning process is as easy as possible.
Our Resources include risk assessments for each individual activity that we offer, accreditations to planning tools for your visit to Mount Cook. To save you time, we have created permission letters to forward to parents/carers, along with a Group Leader information pack including kit lists, sleeping arrangements and directions to our centre.
We're happy to help and support you as much as we can by creating a flexible approach to all bookings and creating bespoke itineraries for each group, so that we can create fun and rewarding trips for children and young people.
"Bringing History to Life!", Mount Cook have created BRAND NEW educational packages, with the aim of making History fun, engaging and informative for children. Our packages involve using outdoor activities, costumes and local historic features to inspire both pupils and teachers!
With different topics available, school groups can step back in time and learn all about Prehistoric Britain, the Roman Empire or the industrious Victorian era. You can visit us just for the day, or take our residential option and stay in our cosy accommodation during your stay.
