We appreciate that it can be daunting if this is your child's first time away from home. That's why we have created the Parent's Page, to provide you with all the necessary information you need to prepare your child for their stay at our Mount Cook, and to put your mind at ease! We think it is important that children and young people are given the opportunity to take risks and experience the thrill of adventure sports and activities in a controlled and safe environment. Consideration for your child's safety and security is inherent in everything we do. Our Centre undergoes regular risk assessments and health & safety checks, carried out internally by our team to ensure we remain at the forefront of outstanding health and safety practice. Mount Cook has also been awarded the nationally recognised LOtC (Learning Outside the Classroom) Quality Badge, which indicates a high level of education and safety provision within the outdoors. All of our activity providers are professionally trained and qualified, with full DBS checks and first aid certificates. For further peace of mind, there is a 24-hour first aider present for the duration of your child's stay at our Centre.

To ensure that your child has the best possible time with us, it is essential to double-check what kit is required for the residential or activity day. Suggested kit list:
